U2- One        Lyrics & Music: Bono / U2

Is it getting better Or do you feel the same Will it make it easier on you now You got someone to blame You say... One love One life When it's one need In the night One love We get to share it Leaves you baby if you Don't care for it Did I disappoint you Or leave a bad taste in your mouth You act like you never had love And you want me to go without Well it's... Too late Tonight To drag the past out into the light We're one, but we're not the same We get to Carry each other Carry each other One... Have you come here for forgiveness Have you come to raise the dead Have you come here to play Jesus To the lepers in your head Did I ask too much More than a lot You gave me nothing Now it's all I got We're one But we're not the same Well we Hurt each other Then we do it again You say Love is a temple Love a higher law Love is a temple Love the higher law You ask me to enter But then you make me crawl And I can't be holding on To what you got When all you got is hurt One love One blood One life You got to do what you should One life With each other Sisters Brothers One life But we're not the same We get to Carry each other Carry each other One...life One

U2  - Grace    Lyrics & Music: Bono / U2

Grace
She takes the blame
She covers the shame
Removes the stain
It could be her name

Grace
It's a name for a girl
It's also a thought that
Changed the world

And when she walks on the street
You can hear the strings
Grace finds goodness
In everything

Grace
She's got the walk
Not on a wrapper on chalk
She's got the time to talk

She travels outside
Of karma, karma
She travels outside
Of karma

When she goes to work
You can hear the strings
Grace finds beauty
In everything

Grace
She carries a world on her hips
No champagne flute for her lips
No twirls or skips
Between her fingertips

She carries a pearl
In perfect condition
What once was hers
What once was friction
What left a mark
No longer stains

Because grace makes beauty
Out of ugly things

Grace finds beauty
In everything

Grace finds goodness
In everything

Neil Young - When God Made Me

Was he thinkin' about my country
Or the color of my skin?
Was he thinkin' 'bout my religion
And the way I worshipped him?
Did he create just me in his image
Or every living thing?

When God made me
When God made me

Was he planning only for believers
Or for those who just have faith?
Did he envision all the wars
That were fought in his name?
Did he say there was only one way
To be close to him?

When God made me
When God made me

Did he give me the gift of love
To say who I could choose?

When God made me
When God made me

When God made me
When God made me

Did he give me the gift of voice
So some could silence me?
Did he give me the gift of vision
Not knowing what I might see?
Did he give me the gift of compassion
To help my fellow man?

When God made me
When God made me

When God made me
When God made me

"QUEEN OF HEARTS GONE TOO SOON"         Music & Lyrics: Michael J
                                                                                                                                  4U WAY UP MUSIC, ASCAP

She was a shooting star, something that lit up our sky,
magical and golden with grace and style.
The people called her Queen of Hearts
blessed with a special smile, that was only… only hers…

Chorus:
Then she was gone,
then she was gone, she was gone…
Gone too soon

She was so very young when she first caught his eye,
the romance of the century could never die… they were wrong
But how it looked so beautiful as they walked down the aisle
A modern fairytale, prince and princess, royal babies

Chorus:
Then she was gone,
their Mummy gone, she was gone…
Gone too soon

Royal life was very hard, she had thoughts to end her life
Did she ever get a chance to find out who she really was
A product that could sell so well, hunted all the time
Acts of infidelity, feelings of unworthiness… we saw her cry

(Extended version only)
Still the people stood in crowds, to see her beauty, to see her shine
How she touched the highest ones, how she touched the least of these
Hoping she would smile at them, just for a while…

(Celtic Flute Instrumental)

Bridge:
Does never having seen you mean I never will?
I never thought your leaving would make me feel the way it did

2nd chorus:
And we shall see…with no more tears
And we may meet…with no more fears
On the other side, by-and-by* Lady Di

The little child you held so tight, the moment that you closed your eyes
Heaven has a home for you, tender arms of eternity
But will we continue on the loving ways that she stood for?

The Words "I Love You"
from  The Road To Freedom

written by Chris de Burgh

There are those who think that love comes with a lifetime guarantee,
But we know from those around us, that this may not always be,
It’s the simple things that come between a father and a son,
But when they try to talk, the knives are out before they have begun;

Well that was me, and I have seen the light that shines for eternity,
Because I learned to say the words “I love you;”

So many hearts have been broken by the lies of history,
And so many arms are still open for that final mystery;
We must show respect for all the rest, and what a man believes,
And the one who died upon the cross, well he is the one for me,
And he said “Come with me and you will see the light that shines
For eternity, be strong and learn to say the words “I love you;”

And this endless road that we are on just keeps on going round,
But there’s one destination that always is here to be found;

So come with me, and you will see the light that shines for eternity,
Be strong and learn to say the words “I love you,”
Be strong and learn to say the words “I love you,” the words “I love you,”
The words “I love you,” the words “I love you.”

A Spaceman Came Travelling
From  Spanish Train and Other Stories
written by Chris de Burgh

A spaceman came travelling on his ship from afar,
'twas light years of time since his mission did start,
And over a village he halted his craft,
And it hung in the sky like a star, just like a star...

He followed a light and came down to a shed,
Where a mother and a child were lying there on a bed,
A bright light of silver shone round his head,
And he had the face of an angle, and they were afraid...

Then the stranger spoke, he said 'Do not fear,
I come from a planet a long way from here,
And I bring a message for mankind to hear',
And suddenly the sweetest music filled the air...

And it went la, la...
Peace and goodwill to all men, and love for the child...

This lovely music went trembling through the ground,
And many were wakened on hearing that sound,
And travellers on the road, the village they found,
By the light of that ship in the sky, which shone all round...

And just before dawn at the paling of the sky,
The stranger returned and said 'Now I must fly,
When two thousand years of your time has gone by,
This song will begin once again, to a baby's cry...'

And it went la la... This song will begin once again
to a baby's cry...
And it goes la la... Peace and goodwill to all men
and love for the child...

Oh the whole world is waiting, waiting to hear that song again,
There are thousands standing on the edge of the world,
And a star is moving somewhere, the time is nearly here,
This song will begin once again, to a baby's cry...

IN THE LIVING YEARS    -    Mike & The Mechanics

Every generation
Blames the one before
And all of their frustrations
Come beating on your door

I know that I’m a prisoner
To all my father held so dear
I know that I’m a hostage
To all his hopes and fears
I just wish I could have told him in the living years

Crumpled bits of paper
Filled with imperfect thought
Stilted conversations
I’m afraid that’s all we’ve got

You say you just don’t see it
He says it’s perfect sense
You just can’t get agreement
In this present tense
We all talk a different language
Talking in defence

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It’s too late when we die
To admit we don’t see eye to eye

So we open up a quarrel
Between the present and the past
We only sacrifice the future
It’s the bitterness that lasts

So don’t yield to the fortunes
You sometimes see as fate
It may have a new perspective
On a different day
And if you don’t give up,  and don’t give in
You may just be o.k.

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It’s too late when we die
To admit we don’t see eye to eye

I wasn’t there that morning
When my father passed away
I didn’t get to tell him
All the things I had to say

I think I caught his spirit
Later that same year
I’m sure I heard his echo
In my baby’s new born tears
I just wish I could have told him in the living years

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It’s too late when we die
To admit we don’t see eye to eye

Music & Lyrics:  Michael Herberger /  Xavier Naidoo  &  Xavier Naidoo

Jah is changing all

Dont let your head hang down child
walk your walk and stand up tall
for the weather might not stay this mild
'cause Jah* is changing all
fall into the arms of your creator
when the gates open for you
onehundredandfortyfourthousand elevators
one of them might get you through
this earth is changing faces for Babylon must fall
no more hiding places  for Jah is changing all

Jah is changing all
Jah is changing all
Jah is changing all
Jah is changing all

now you know this earth's a ball
but only one can play with it
seated in His holy hall
he will judge you when you're hit
try to set the world on fire
you might fail a thousand years
but on a good day we might strike back at the empire
an change them and their gears

this earth is changing faces for Babylon must fall
no more hiding places for Jah is changing all

Jah is changing all
Jah is changing all
Jah is changing all
Jah is changing all

the third remark goes to your conscience
that might lead me to your soul
so all the false assumptions may fall into a hole
as bagpipes catch your ears you listen and you learn
you learn to lose your fear so you might not be concerned

this earth is changing faces for Babylon must fall
no more hiding places for jah is changing all

Jah is changing all
Jah is changing all
Jah is changing all
Jah is changing all

Slow Train  by Bob Dylan

Sometimes I feel so low-down and disgusted
Can't help but wonder what's happening to my companions
Are they lost or are they found, have they counted the cost it'll take to bring down
All their earthly principles they're gonna have to abandon ?
There's slow, slow train coming up around the bend.

I had a woman down in Alabama
She was a backwoods girl, but she sure was realistic
She said, Boy, without a doubt, have to quit your mess and straighten out
You could die down here, be just another accident statistic
There's slow, slow train coming up around the bend.

All that foreign oil controlling American soil
Look around you, it's just bound to make you embarrassed
Sheiks walking around like kings, wearing fancy jewels and nose rings
Deciding America's future from Amsterdam and to Paris
And there's slow, slow train coming up around the bend.

Man's ego is inflated, his laws are outdated, they don't apply no more
You can't rely no more to be standing around waiting
In the home of the brave, Jefferson turning over in his grave
Fools glorifying themselves, trying to manipulate Satan
And there's slow, slow train coming up around the bend.

Big-time negotiators, false healers and woman haters
Masters of the bluff and masters of the proposition
But the enemy I see wears a cloak of decency
All non-believers and men stealers talking in the name of religion
And there's slow, there's slow train coming up around the bend.

People starving and thirsting, grain elevators are bursting
Oh, you know it costs more to store the food than it do to give it
They say loose your inhibitions, follow your own ambitions
They talk about a life of brotherly love, show me someone who knows how to live it
There's slow, slow train coming up around the bend.

Well, my baby went to Illinois with some bad-talking boy she could destroy
A real suicide case, but there was nothing I could do to stop it
I don't care about economy, I don't care about astronomy
But it's sure do bother me to see my loved ones turning into puppets
There's slow, slow train coming up around the bend.

When He Returns by Bob Dylan

The iron hand it ain't no match for the iron rod,
The strongest wall will crumble and fall to a mighty God.
For all those who have eyes and all those who have ears
It is only He who can reduce me to tears.
Don't you cry and don't you die and don't you burn
For like a thief in the night, He'll replace wrong with right
When He returns.

Truth is an arrow and the gate is narrow that it passes through,
He unleashed His power at an unknown hour that no one knew.
How long can I listen to the lies of prejudice?
How long can I stay drunk on fear out in the wilderness?
Can I cast it aside, all this loyalty and this pride?
Will I ever learn that there'll be no peace, that the war won't cease
Until He returns?

Surrender your crown on this blood-stained ground, take off your mask,
He sees your deeds, He knows your needs even before you ask.
How long can you falsify and deny what is real?
How long can you hate yourself for the weakness you conceal?
Of every earthly plan that be known to man, He is unconcerned,
He's got plans of His own to set up His throne
When He returns.

Gonna change my way of thinking by Bob Dylan

Gonna change my way of thinking,
Make myself a different set of rules.
Gonna change my way of thinking,
Make myself a different set of rules.
Gonna put my good foot forward,
And stop being influenced by fools.

So much oppression,
Can't keep track of it no more.
So much oppression,
Can't keep track of it no more.

Stripes on your shoulders,
Stripes on your back and on your hands.
Stripes on your shoulders,
Stripes on your back and on your hands.
Swords piercing your side,
Blood and water flowing through the land.

Well don't know which one is worse,
Doing your own thing or just being cool.
Well don't know which one is worse,
Doing your own thing or just being cool.

You remember only about the brass ring,
You forget all about the golden rule.

You can mislead a man,
You can take ahold of his heart with your eyes.
You can mislead a man,
You can take ahold of his heart with your eyes.
But there's only one authority,
And that's the authority on high.

I got a God-fearing woman,
One I can easily afford.
I got a God-fearing woman,
One I can easily afford.

She can do the Georgia crawl,
She can walk in the spirit of the Lord.

Jesus said, "Be ready,
For you know not the hour in which I come."
Jesus said, "Be ready,
For you know not the hour in which I come."
He said, "He who is not for Me is against Me,"
Just so you know where He's coming from.

There's a kingdom called Heaven,
A place where there is no pain of birth.
There's a kingdom called Heaven,
A place where there is no pain of birth.
Well the Lord created it, mister,
About the same time He made the earth.

'CROSS THE GREEN MOUNTAIN Music & Lyrics: Bob Dylan

-

'Cross the green mountain, I sit by the stream
Heaven blazing in my head, I dreamt a monstrous dream
Something came up out of the sea
Swept through the land of the rich and the free

I look into the eyes of my merciful friend
And then I ask myself, "Is this the end?"
Memories linger, sad yet sweet
And I think of the souls in heaven who will meet

Altars are burning with flames far and wide
The foe has crossed over from the other side
They tip their caps from the top of the hill
You can feel them come, more brave blood to spill

Along the dim Atlantic line
The ravaged land lies for miles behind
The light's coming forward, and the streets are broad
All must yield to the avenging God

The world is old, the world is gray
Lessons of life can't be learned in a day
I watch and I wait, and I listen while I stand
To the music that comes from a far better land

Close the eyes of our captain, peace may he know
His long night is done, the great leader is laid low
He was ready to fall, he was quick to defend
Killed outright he was by his own men

It's the last day's last hour of the last happy year
I feel that the unknown world is so near
Pride will vanish, and glory will rot
But virtue lives and cannot be forgot

The bells of the evening have rung
There's blasphemy on every tongue
Let 'em say that I walked in fair nature's light
And that I was loyal to truth and to right

Serve God and be cheerful, look upward, beyond
Beyond the darkness of masks, the surprises of dawn
In the deep green grasses of the blood stained world
They never dreamed of surrendering, they fell where they stood

Stars fell over Alabama, I saw each star
You're walking in dreams, whoever you are
Chilled are the skies, keen is the frost
The ground's froze hard, and the morning is lost

A letter to mother came today
"Gunshot wound to the breast", is what it did say
But he'll be better soon, he’s in a hospital bed
But he'll never be better, he's already dead

I'm ten miles outside the city, and I'm lifted away
In an ancient light that is not of day
They were calm, they were blunt, we knew 'em all too well
We loved each other more than we ever dared to tell

Barclay James Harvest - He Said Love

There once was a man
Who was born to be king
He changed all our lives
And he made my heart sing
He turned water into wine
And called his fishermen
He cured the sick
The lame could walk
The blind could see again

He told us of the shepherds
And the flowers in the field
The story of the farmer's seed
And the harvest it would yield
He told us of two houses
And the man who lost his son
Of two men in the temple
And the good samaritan

Love
Only love's gonna take you higher
Love
Only love's gonna carry you home

He healed the soldier's servant
He calmed the raging sea
He shared five loaves and two small fish
And five thousand he did feed
He told the rich men share your wealth
He cured the ten sick men
He raised a friend called lazarus
And made him whole again

He said love
Only love's gonna take you higher
Love
Only love's gonna carry you home

He taught the children how to pray
The children he did bless
And Mary came with perfume
Before his feet she wept
He gave us bread - his body
He gave us wine - his blood
He asked us all to live in peace
And nothing do but good
Now one friend did betray him
Another did deny
With arms outstretched he died
So all of mankind could survive

There once was a man
Who was born to be king
He'll change all your lives
If you'll just let him in

He said love
Only love's gonna take you higher
Love
Only love's gonna carry you home

Love and understanding carries you home

Love
Only love's gonna take you higher
Higher and higher
He said love
Only love's gonna carry you home
Love...
